How Frum can you go?

Wondering around the Blog World I ran across the Frumteenswatch blog. Of course I can't read a "watch" site without going to the source, so I decided to check out this Frumteens web site. After laughing a bit and crying a bit, I have to say that we have definitely lost it. Although the Moderator makes many extreme "Halachic" statements, what really got me concerned were the comments made by the other people in this site.
I have a lot of respect for people who are Different religiosity than I am, if it's Frum, or completely Chiloni (secular), but some of these people are just simply off the wall. And what is even scarier is that the more radical a statement the more it gets support on this site.
One of the statements that really got me Laughing/crying was a post about "71 reasons not to talk to guys." I actually read most of the 71 reasons, and I was trying to figure out, where they get these from? Obviously the writer got her info from someone, at least some of them, but interesting is why does she need 71 reasons?? (not to mention that after that someone added 5 more) can anyone think of 150 reasons not to eat Pork? I have only one, and that one is good enough for me (Torah says so - end of story). In adition to that half of what she wrote was either wrong, or just plain crazy. the best example was to state that touching a guy is Yehareg veAl Yaavor. (Those of us who Follow Halacha would know that that only applies to 3 things {Avoda Zara, Giluy Arayot and Sfichut Damim}).

on another Post some Person told about her Awful sin that she talked to a boy on the phone.
and "talking to a boy is the lowest level for me! i climbed really high this past year and felt like i felt flat on my face!it totally ruined everything for me! After awhile i got over the guilt and did teshuva!"
I know another Religious group that does penance, and the way the Frummer than Thou, they are looking more and more like Catholics. Have we really drifted that far apart from these people that when I read what they say and see what they do, in doens't look like they are part of the same religion as I am so proudly part of??

i always hope that the crazy posts on frumteens are just the moderator under some different alias. its a sad state of affairs when kids are brought up to believe in such heinous and hateful things that so often pop up on that site. its sad that so many of the moderators opinions will only lead to more divisions within the already divided Jewish people.

there are those who say that touching an unmarried girl is a toldah of gilui arayot, and is also Yehareg veAl Yaavor.

the thing about the site that really got to me was the obsession with if god still loves me or not, and whether or not you've done tshuva yet. it seemed very catholic to me.

One thing that needs to be recognized is that the Blogosphere is, lulei demistafina, going to attract more views from the extremeties than from the middle. That's just the nature of getting up and shouting.
