Report The Real News!!!

As more protests gather in the Arab and Muslim world and even in America, the main-stream media refuses to report what's really going on in the world. More than a week has passed since the Dick Cheney hunting accident. Mr Whillington has disavowed Cheney of any wrong doing, and to the press' sadness, Mr Whillington is not in any danger of drying from his bird shot wounds but will survive with his health intact and only a few bruises.
It would, therefore, seem that this is a non-story, so why is it that more than a week after the fact, the press is still dwelling on this and not reporting more important matters?!? Blinded by their immense hatred of Cheney and the Bush administration, the press decided to attack this as if the walls were not crashing anywhere else in the world; as if this was the one major story happening in the world. Well, let's see if that's true.
In Nigeria, protests against the Danish cartoons have progressed to a whole new and terrifying level. Nigerian Muslims took to the streets to start killing their Christian citizens. A number of Nigerian Christians were killed in protests. Among them were 3 children and a Catholic priest. At least 45 people have been killed in the protests taking place all over the Muslim and arab world. Worst of all,
On top of that, at least 15 churches were burned down. (Major cable news networkds like CNN refuses to show the pictures of the Danish cartoons, as they say the do not want to contribute to "fanning the flames" of hatred. Well, I see it's working. But, they have no problems showing horrifically anti-semetic cartoons that have been published in Arab newspapers. They also have no qualms or moral equivication about reshowing more pictures released from the Abu Ghraib incident. What's the point?!?) The question that I will is have you heard or seen this story on the major news networks or in their headlines? Have you seen this on the front page of the major news-papers like the New York Times or WaPo?
Yesterday, on Israel's Channel 2 news, they had a story from Iran's University of Tehran. The "bright" students of the University, men and women, were recruited for a seminar on how and why Israel needs to be wiped off the map. They were shown a propagana film on the "Israeli threat" to the Palestinian and Muslim nations. Afterwards, a senior Imam spoke on the religious duty that this mission entails. After the seminar was completed, student were asked to sign up and volunteer to become martyrs and "soldiers" in the fight to destroy Israel, when their duty is called upon. The vast majority, if not all of them, ran to the table to sign up for this "heroic" call to duty. And, these are supposed to be the brightest of the bright of the next generation. The generation that the world is claiming wants reform and moderation in Iran.

The media is so consumed by its hatred of the Bush administration that, for the past week and a half, they've been completely blinded what else is goin on. They are so consume by this tunnel vision that the American public is suffering because of it. Many senior members of the media admit that it was wrong for new organizations to pull out most of their foreign correspondants during the "good" years of the 1990s, thereby shutting off the majority of the American public to what was developing in the rest of the world; especially the Middle East. The media admits that had they put some focus on this vital issue, instead of relegating fantasies of "peace-time" at the conclusion of the Cold War, maybe Americans would have been more astute and more demanding of their country's national security before 9/11 ever happened. For example, a Commission report was released during the '90s that spoke about the threats coming out of the Middle East, and that there was a strong possibility of America being attacked on its soil. They were also the ones who were among the first to bring up the possibility of highjackers using airplanes as weapons to crash into buildings. They put the Comission together to force the Clinton administration to prepare accordingly. This story was not reported in most newspapers and on most news networks. Almost no-one ever heard about it.
In the same light, if the people allow the media to get away with not reporting vital stories that are happening around the world that could very possibily have a devastating effect on our lives, then the people have no right or reason to be surprised if they're caught off guard by an event or terrorist attack. We cannot afford to let the people who inform us to become complacent and allow their left-wing biases (that there really is no terrorist threat, and there is really nothing important happening in the "real world", so we don't have to pay much attention to these events or report them) to harm us. Let's force all news outlets to report the REAL NEWS!!!

An Associated Press reporter saw mobs of Muslim protesters swarm through the city center with machetes, sticks and iron rods. One group threw a tire around a man, poured gas on him and set him ablaze...Chima Ezeoke, a Christian Maiduguri resident, said protesters attacked and looted shops owned by minority Christians, most of them with origins in the country's south.
"Most of the dead were Christians beaten to death on the streets by the rioters," Ezeoke said. Witnesses said three children and a priest were among those killed...
