Love Thy Neighbor?

I have the honor of posting a link to a story that I think every-one should read. Written by fellow blogger, Treppenwitz, it is called Ibrihim's Mirror. It is a moving article, which discusses how a seemingly simple dispute or matter can uncover many complexities and layers which exist within the Arab-Israeli Conflict. We are all tempted to automatically take sides when we are of a dispute regarding an altercation or the like between an Arab or Palestinian and a Jew. We stop hearing the facts of the matter and just pick the side we sympathize with, and that's the end of it. If you read this story carefully, you will see how important is to really listen to the facts and the truth before making any conclusions. There's always a little more than meets the eye, and it is your responsibility to dig beneath the glossy facade to find the whole truth that lays beneath surface.

I know that we live in the post-modern society where both sides have equal weight, where we always have to hear the other view points because they're all valid. Well, I'm sorry to tell you that some-times one side is wrong, and the other is right. Some-times, only one side has the truth, and the other has the lies. Some-times, there is no "other side". I agree that there are many instances where there is a lot of gray between the black and white. But, sometimes there isn't. Some-times there's only one truth. Some-times, it's not just a matter or how your look at it or from which side you're standing.
