12:00 AM: One of the names of the killed soldiers from today's fighting was released for publication just minutes ago: 20-year-old Staff Sergeant Kobi Smilag of Rehovot.

The White House announced that it will give humanitarian aid to Lebanon.

Senior HAMAS leader said that unlike Hezbollah, they cannot hold the captured soldier for years on end due to the danger they are exposed to by IDF forces.

11:00 PM: MK Misezhnikov is appealing to the Attorney General to file criminal charges and possibly revoke the citizenship of MK Ibrahim Sarsur. Sarsur is the head of Ra`am-Ta`al party and the Islamic Movement. He "accused Israel of intentionally targeting Lebanese civilians and called for a united Arab front against Israel". "MK Sarsur has violated his oath of loyalty to the state of Israel and is collaborating with the enemy in a time of war. He has even incited the Arab nations to join together to destroy Israel, " said Misezhnikov.

2 soldiers were killed today as a result of fighting on the northern border. One was a battalion commander, and another soldier was killed when his tank ran over an explosive device.

Correction: I misread the hebrew news. Only one helicopter crashed today. It was the fatal crash near Tzfat in which 2 pilots died. It is this crash that is being investigated for mechanical malfuntions. The helicopter crashed when it electrical wires. Sorry for the mistake and any confusion that may have resulted from.

Sorry for the delays guys, but blogger's been on the fritz today.
9:07 PM: Earlier this evening, the IDF hit a Hezbollah car that was carrying terrorists away from a launch site after they launched Katyushas into Israel.

In the same operation, the IDF also destroyed a building used by Hezbollah to launch rockets.

The head of the British opposition called on PM Blair to stop the transfer to arms to Israel because of what he called Israel's disproportionate military actions in Lebanon and Gaza.

US Secretary of Rice land in Israel about a half an hour ago and if on her way to meet with FM Livni.

Maariv On-line is reporting that it's been confirmed that the cause of the crash of the Apache on the northern border was a result of mechanical failures, not enemy fire. Initial reports state that the helicopter was flying too high at the time of the malfunction. There are no reports of fatalities at this time.

Are you sure it was "the head of the British opposition"? The official leader of the opposition is David Cameron, the leader of the Conservative Party, which I belong to.

Anti-Israeli position is held by the British "Liberals" (read socialists).

If you are right than it is VERY disappointing how low the party of Maggie Thatcher has sunk in less than 15 years.
