Say What? I can't hear you. My Prejudices are too loud!

While Israel fights to get back "one kidnapped soldier", fights the world for acceptance of its rights to defend its sovereignty from enemies that have launched over a THOUSAND ROCKETS into its communities (something no other country would tolerate), and fights its own demons, the world's MSM (main stream media) fights the PR war on behalf of the Palestinians and HAMAS. As tanks, artillery, and infantry troops amass on Gaza's borders, the world's media is launching their own offensive against Israel, and the Western World is buying into the lies, as expected. There is no limit to how far the world will go to exert its double standards when it comes to Israel. It's OK and even honorable for the US and other nations to commit targeted killings against wanted terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan, but for Israel, it's assassination, disproportional use of force, and simply immoral and wrong. I can think of a thousand other examples, but we would be here all day, and nobody wants that.

Why am I bringing this up? The now infamous "Prisoner's Letter" has been in the news quite a bit lately, especially since last Sunday's events. If you've been living in a Unibomber shack some-where and don't know what this is, let me explain. HAMAS has declared numerous times, in spite of the world media attempting with every breath to legitimize and moderate the terrorist group, that it will not now, nor ever, recognize Israel's right to exist. It will never stop its Jihad to destroy the State of Israel, and has no intentions of even considering moderating its position now that it's in government, nor will they abide by any peace treaties or accords signed between Israel and the Palestinians before they stepped into power. In light of these OFT REPEATED STATEMENTS, the members of the G8, especially the US and Great Britain has cut off all funding to the PA. This has come under great scrutiny and criticism by numerous editors and media pundits in the MSM as they have deluded themselves and attempted to delude the world that HAMAS is now a moderate government organization that has clamped down on their murderous endeavors now that they have to organize garbage pick-up (something which they actually haven't done in all the months that they've been in power). So, in comes the "Prisoner's Letter" to save the day. This "Letter" was written by the higher echelon of the terrorists, men who have plotted and been responsible for the murders of hundreds of Israeli civilians, now sitting in Israeli jails for their heinous crimes.

In it, it discusses a plan to unify Fatah and Hamas (and the smaller groups) under one banner of resistance against Israel, and basically the goals and agendas for the PA's future. However, the media would have you believe that this letter calls for HAMAS to recognize Israel and the Two-State Sollution. They're banking on the fact that you won't actually bother to read the letter, in full, and that you'll just spew the rhetoric of their interpretations. Namely, that you will say that the "Letter" calls for the "implicit recognition" of Israel by HAMAS. This ploy has worked to some degree, and the world's media, especially that of Western Europe, is doing everything they can to make sure you buy what they're selling, and start questioning why Israel is not sitting down and speaking with HAMAS in light of this new "development". They want you to see Israel as the evil aggressor, especially with their tanks prepared for war, as HAMAS is "begging" for peace talks and for Israel to now see them as the moderate negotiators and legitimate partners for peace that the MSM has made them out to be.

Contrary to what the media would have you believe, NOWHERE IN THE LETTER IS ISRAEL EVEN MENTIONED! NOWHERE IN THE LETTER IS TWO-STATES MENTIONED. NOWHERE IN THE LETTER IS THERE EVEN "IMPLICIT" RECOGNITION OF ISRAEL'S RIGHT TO EXIST, NOR IS THERE EVEN THE HINT OF HALTING THE ARMED FIGHT AGAINST ISRAEL'S CIVILIANS. IN FACT, THE LETTER SPECIFICALLY CALLS FOR THE PALESTINIANS TO CONTINUE THEIR "ARMED STRUGGLE" AGAINST ISRAEL AND COMPLETELY VAGUE AS TO WHAT IT WOULD TAKE TO STOP IT. If you want to read the plan, and empower yourself through knowledge, you can view it in full here. If you want to see how the media has spun it, in the truest sense of the word, look here and here.

HAMAS has repeatedly denied the media's claims and insistence that they are prepared to recognize Israel, but it seems that the MSM just doesn't want to or refuses to listen. As with the liberals and left-wing elite, the MSM has set their agenda, and will distort or ignore any truths in order to accomplish it. HAMAS all but has a megaphone to the world's ear screaming at the top of their lungs that they are committed to destroying Israel and all of its inhabitants, but the world just really refuses to believe them. Just as the Western World refused to believe Hitler's intentions and plans for the Jews even when the evidence was smacking them in the face, the world is refusing to hear now. Well, I guess since it's only the Jews again, it doesn't really matter. One wonders what it will take for the MSM and Western World to actually believe that HAMAS and their ilk really mean what they say.

The Daily TidBit and LGF have published a Der Spiegel article in which an interview is conducted with HAMAS' #2 man. In it, one can tell that HAMAS is deperately trying to convince the world of its true intentions, but no-one seems to be listening. An excerpt:
Abu Marzook: With this agreement, we have primarily agreed to strengthen the resistance in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Aside from that, we have agreed on the goal of establishing a Palestinian state in these areas.
SPIEGEL ONLINE: Doesn’t that mean that Hamas inevitably accepts the Israeli state in the rest of that area?
Abu Marzook: The paper does not say that at all. It is purely about the future of our people and about how a government uniting all Palestinian factions can work on building their independent state. Read the rest...

I strongly suggest you read the whole interview, then go back and read the "Prisoner's Letter" a second and even a third time. Memorize it if you have to, because you'll need to use it as ammunition against those who will try to convince you that HAMAS has "changed" and is prepared to accept Israel and negotiate. They will try to convince you of this BY USING THE "LETTER". FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE!!! (Just as a little fyi, IF HAMAS has accepted this letter, they have already followed it by their incursion into Israel last Sunday.) After you've read the "Letter" and this interview, I want you ask yourself how the MSM has the gall, the audacity, the very Chutzpa to post this headline in today's British, The Independent, paper. Ask yourself how they get away with it. Ask yourself why YOU have let them get away with it. Then, finally, ask yourself the really tough questions you never asked yourself before about what's really going on over there.

This was the front cover of The Independent's recent supplement. The image for war is associated with the IDF, while their image for peace is associated with... the green flag of Hamas?

I get very frustrated with the British media. Still there is nothing we can do about the media other than to bring facts to light as you are doing here.

What is even more frustrating though is that Isreal can't find some decent officials to send to the UK... Have a look at the Channel 4 interview.

Do you know why Israel is sending such people to the UK?

No, shlemazl, you're absolutely right. Israel has not been the best when it comes to fighting the PR war and defending their case. I think it stems from a couple of things. First of all, I think it started out as Israel truly believing that since they had the truth on their side, the world wouldn't believe the obvious propaganda coming from the Palestinian side. When this turned out to not be the case, I think they were shocked at this and didn't knwo how to properly handle it. Now, I think it's gotten to the point that even when Israel's PR has done a good job, the media has already set its agenda which depends on believing and giving the benefit of the doubt to the Palestinians and questioning the motives and truth given forth by Israeli institutions. On that end, Israel's PR could be excellent now, and it wouldn't make a difference. The world's MSM has already made up their minds, and no truth to the contrary is going to change that. Secondly, you do have a segment of Israeli society and its politicians that consists of apologists and will do anything to increase their image of agressors and the Palestinians' as victims, because they believe that they have to repent for all of Israel's "wrong doings" and "sins" that we've committed agains the Palestinians. Therefore, any crime, terrorist act, etc committed by the Palestinians will be played down by these people, and they will find a way to put the blame on Israel. Until we get rid of these elements, Israel will never have the positive side or any sort of strategic advantage in the PR war.
