What's not being reported by the International media

(Hat Tip: Snapshots Camera Blog)

There are many international officials, Arab and European alike, politicians, and reporters that have been condemning Israel's attacks in Lebanon as "disproportionate use of force" and have also been accusing the IDF of targeting civilians. Promelgating these accusations are major international news outlets that are not reporting the full story when they list the amount of Lebanese wounded and dead.

However, the Lebanese news outlets have taken it upon themselves to tell the whole story. The Lebanese Daily Star is reporting the fact that the IAF has been dropping thousands of fliers and pamphlets into the areas in which they are preparing to hit in order to evacuate as many civilians as possible to prevent non-combatant casualties. Being that Hezbollah forces have embedded themselves within civilian centers and major populations, violating international law and the Geneva Convention, if the IAF and IDF forces would not do this, we would be seeing many many more non-combatant casualties and deaths. Here is the text of these warning fliers:
Due to the terrorist activities carried out by Hizbullah, the Israeli Army will continue its work within Lebanese territories for as long as it deems fit to protect Israeli citizens. For your own safety and because we do not wish to cause any more civilian deaths, you are advised to avoid all places frequented by Hizbullah.

You should know that the continuation of terrorist activities against Israel will be considered a double-edged sword for you and Lebanon.

The State of Israel.

It should also be noted, for all of you that believe Israel is "targeting" civilians in Gaza, that these fliers are very similar to those frequently dropped by and handed out by IDF forces prior to offensives in Gaza.

Unfortunately, Israeli citizens/non-combatants are not given the same courtesy by those firing Kassams and Katyushas into Israeli cities and towns.

What makes you think that world opinion isn't what's allowing Israel to do this?

Osaid, are you simply looking for any-one to justify your responses. You just went on this whole rant screaming that Israel is targeting civilians, yet you come and comment on a post that shows that it's the exact opposite. Which is it? Are we targeting civilians or not? Did we or didn't we give the Lebanese citizens of the south several hours to evacuate before we struck? Is Hezbollah and Hamas and Islamic Jihad and Fatah giving the same pre-warning coutesy to the civilians they're targeting and killing? You want to make a point, and you do anything to prove that it's true while forgetting anything else. Why did you post a comment on this article when you just posted another comment stating that this wasn't true? You can't have it both ways.

An argument against the arguer does not disqualify the arguer's argument. Hebrew University should really make logic classes a requirement.
