Daily News Updates: Day 27

6:47 PM: The Lebanese PM is now admitted that only 1 person, not 40, was killed in the IAF airstrike on Hula earlier this afternoon.

The Court Houses in Haifa and Acco will be, until further notive, operating on a Friday schedule, where they will only hear the most urgent and pressing cases.

It is being reported that Lebanon is calling up its Reservists to the Army.

Katyusha rockets continue to fall throughout the north, as at least 1 hit an empty house directly, in Kiryat Shmona.

Places that have been hit include Kiryat Shmona, Acco, Carmiel, Tzfat, and Naharyia. No word yet on what the count is up until now, but as of a few hours ago, it was over 100.

4:58 PM: The sirens that went off in Nahariya earlier resulted in another barrage on the city. There were no injuries and no damage.

An Arab Knesset member is accusing Israel of attempting to assasinate PA PM Haniyeh eariler today.

4:27 PM: Sirens went off in Naharyia just a short while ago. There are reports of falls, but nothing further.

According to reasearch, 40% of Israelis civilians that have been killed by Katyushas since fighting began were Arab.

Soldiers from the Paratroopers' elite Duvdevan unit have arrested a top wanted terrorist in the West Bank area.

3:41 PM: IDF forces have killed at least 8 Hezbollah terrorists during fighting in Bint-Jibeil.

The PM of Lebanon is accusing Israel of being a terrorist state, saying, "If what the State of Israel is doing isn't state sponspored terrorism, what is?"

The Israeli PM is meeting with 30 Reservist Officers in Northern Command in order to discuss the present and possible future security scenario(s).

2:57 PM: The Lebanese PM is meeting with a meeting of the Arab community. He is saying that he will demand that Israel will withdraw from Shabaa Farms. (*Seniora seems to forget that when Israel left Lebanon in 2000, the UN declared that Israel had evacuated ALL Lebanese territory and the farms belong to SYRIA, and its status will be determined by a future agreement between Israel and SYRIA.*)

2:51 PM: Just released for publication: The name of the soldier killed this morning; Moshe Ambao (sp?), 22, from Lod.

Lebanon is reporting that "dozens" of people are buried underneath a building that was targeted by the IAF in the village of Hula.

What's happened today so far: 1 soldier was killed during fighting in southern Lebabon this morning in Bint Jibeil.

At least 4 PA officials were hospitalized after inhaling fumes from an enveloped addressed to PA PM Haniyeh. The PA is accusing Israel of trying to assassinated him, but is considering the possibility that this was an assassination attempt from a rival faction.

Rambam Hospital, in Haifa, is evacuating and relocating whole departments to underground shelters because of the threat of rocket attacks.

Rockets have fallen throughout the morning and early afternoon.

In a joint operation with Army, Shin Bet, Police, Border Guard forces, they eliminated a top Islamic Jihad terrorist over the course of the night.
