Shabbat Recap

-Backing up his deputy, UN Secretary General Anan has stated that Israel's actions in Lebanon last night were a violation of the "cease-fire" agreement. (*Of course, Hezbollah retaining arms and trying to ship weapons across the border are NOT violations.*)

-Just released for publication: The name of the soldier killed this morning at the Bakaot Road-block is Roi Parjon, 21 from Toshav Yehud.

-I forgot about this one. Police have arrested the suspected murderer of an Italian tourist near the Muslim Quarter of the old city. According to the suspect, he said that he "meant to kill a Jew".
Isreally previously posted that the Italian tourist said he was in Israel as a "peace acvitivist" intending to protest Israeli "injustices" and "brutality" against Palestinians. (*Guess that backfired on him, eh?*)

-The Army has released a report stating that the commando unit that operated in Lebanon last night captured 2 Hezbollah terrorists. Hezbollah has only admitted that 3 of their men were killed.

-The husband is currently doing Reservist duty in the northern Jordan Vally, the Bika'a. Today, a soldier was killed at the Bakaot Road-Block earlier today. He was inspecting a taxi at the road-block, when the passenger inside, a Fatah Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade terrorist, opened fire on the soldier, hitting him in the neck above his bullet proof vest, and killing him. I haven't been able to talk to the husband about it yet, as I'm sure many things are happening right now. It has NOT been quiet in the Judea and Samaria area over the course of the past month. As has been reported, the Palestinians don't like the attention being taken away from them, and they have been "stirring up trouble" while Israel was fighting up north, most likely trying to force Israel into fighting on 3 fronts. Unfortunately, for them, the West Bank is the only area where Israel has been fighting correctly, and they have been able to keep the entire region under pretty good control. I'll get you more information as it happens.

-Last night, a small commando team was carrying out an operation in Baal-Beck, deep in Lebanon. It is not clear what their mission was. But, one officer was killed, and 2 injured; 1 seriously by Hezbollah. The government is stating that this was NOT a violation of the "cease-fire", and they are fully within the agreement to continue to carry out operations like these. They are also stating that the unit carried out their operation successfully and were fired upon on their way out. READ THE REST...
-PA PM's Haniyeh's deputy was arrested today by Israeli Security forces. No further information has been given.

-Tomorrow, Minister of Justice, Chaim Ramon will resign. He is being investigated for sexually harrassing a soldier he took a picture with. He admitted to kissing her and allegedly groped her also. He told ynet today that he didn't understand how a 2-3 second kiss could be such a crime. (*That statement pretty much sums up this ENTIRE GOVERNMENT.*)

-Also tomorrow, the Committee set up to investigate the Army's performance in Lebanon will begin its investigations.

Thanks. Yeah, he's OK. He's just been on high alert with no sleep because of it.
