September 11th, 2006

In Israel, it is now officially September 11th, 2006. Out of respect, and as my own on-line blogger version of a moment of silence, no other post will be put up today except for my tribute to Lt. John R. Fischer. I invite all of you to take a moment of your time to read the tribute, and then to take your own moment of silence as we remember the 2,996 victims of the 9/11 terror attacks that has reached its 5th year of commemoration. Unfortunately, it is apparent that the world has not only regressed to the obtuseness and oblivion of September 10th, 2001, but the world has regressed to the 1930s of appeasement, anti-semitism, and denial. Now is more important than ever to remember what was done to us on that terrible day. We can no longer claim ignorance. We can no longer claim that "we didn't know". We do know, and we can't allow ourselves to put our heads back in the sand, and allow some-one to eventually clean up the mess for us. Unfortunately, if we do that, the next time won't catch us by surprise, and G-d help us all, it will be far worse than the 9/11 carnage.
