Most Ridiculing Headline of the Day

The world and mostly the Arab/Muslim world is up in arms about the new construction taking place in the Western Wall Area. Running through Google News I saw the usual silly headline about how we are going to attack El Aksa and how all the Palestinians should join in arms to stop the new construction. But even with all that this Headline was by far the BEST:

Israel closes old city of Jerusalem, bulldozers head to Aqsa mosque

(link)

Gaza, Feb 6 (NNN-KUNA) Israeli forces closed down on Tuesday the Old City of Jerusalem that hosts the Aqsa Mosque, Radio Palestine reported.

"Large numbers of Israeli forces and border guards are stationed in the town and around Al-Aqsa Mosque. All the town's entrances have been shut down," the radio added.

"Israeli bulldozers were seen heading towards the mosque and there are fears that they might destroy a bridge, two rooms, and a hill connecting the Buraq (wailing) Wall and the Aqsa Mosque. The Islamic Awqaf department meanwhile said such measures were part of a Judaizing plan for Jerusalem," the radio added.

It is of course less surprising seeing the source! but still it was funny.

For fuck's sake!!! Sorry, I had to say it. This Aqsa-bulldozing bullshit has been the reason for killing Jews for 100 years. The Mosque is still there, so I guess it will serve the same purpose for the next 100 years.

If you look at the riots of 1990, 1996 and 2000 they all started when phantom accusations made their way around the activists.
It would be funny if the consequences in the past hadn't been so deadly.

The consequences of such accusations have been deadly for the Jews in the past, as well. The Hebron riots of 1929 were started b/c the Arab Muslim preachers said that the Jews were planning on rebuilding the Temple. So, this is a claim that has been used for a very long time.

Soccer Dad,
It seems to me that, although I agree with you about past events, this time they have failed miserably. Maybe it because they are to busy killing each other - or maybe it's because we are all over it this time, but if nothing happened so far, I don't think it will in the near future (not that they won't try - or find some other excuse)
